The United Nations Trust Fund for Human Security, which was established by an initiative of the Government of Japan in 1999, decided to extend assistance of approximately 3,300 U.S. dollars to a project entitled “Support to Human Security in Northern Katanga through Early Recovery and Capacity Building of Local Territory of Nyunzu in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.”
Prime Minister Abe Shinzo offered prayers at Chidorigafuchi National Cemetery and attended the annual Memorial Ceremony for the War Dead. PM Abe said in his address, “We will carve out the future of this country as one full of hope, as we face history with humility and engrave deeply into our hearts the lessons that we should learn. We will make contributions to lasting world peace… and spare no effort in working to bring about a world in which all people are able to live enriched lives.”
Prime Minister Abe Shinzo attended the annual Nagasaki Peace Memorial Ceremony and said, “We who experienced the agony of atomic bombings not once but twice have, despite these ordeals, endured the suffering and the sorrow and raised ourselves to our feet once more, rebuilding our homeland and restoring Nagasaki as a beautiful city. At the Meeting of the Government and Ruling Parties on the Mid-term Fiscal Plan and FY2014 Guidelines for Budget Requests, Prime Minister Abe Shinzo said, "The FY2014 budget is the first budget that the Abe Cabinet is undertaking from the budget request phase, and is an important budget for overcoming deflation and ensuring that we achieve the FY2015 fiscal soundness targets without fail."
