The United Nations Trust Fund for Human Security, which was established by an initiative of the Government of Japan in 1999, decided to extend assistance of approximately 3,300 U.S. dollars to a project entitled “Support to Human Security in Northern Katanga through Early Recovery and Capacity Building of Local Territory of Nyunzu in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.”

At the Meeting of the Government and Ruling Parties on the Mid-term Fiscal Plan and FY2014 Guidelines for Budget Requests, Prime Minister Abe Shinzo said, "The FY2014 budget is the first budget that the Abe Cabinet is undertaking from the budget request phase, and is an important budget for overcoming deflation and ensuring that we achieve the FY2015 fiscal soundness targets without fail."
